New Duran Duran book to examine band's career through its posters
November 16, 2013
A coming book from leading Duran Duran archivist Andrew Golub vows to show the band as never before — through promotional posters. Golub announced the project via Facebook on Nov. 15.
"Beautiful Colors: The Posters of Duran Duran" also will boast a foreword by Duran Duran keyboardist Nick Rhodes.
The posters featured in the book run the gamut — from the band's well-known image on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine in 1984 to rare and early works, including some that are previously unseen.
Items from Golub's collection, the biggest Duran Duran archive in the world, have appeared in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum and on A&E's "Biography," among other venues.
Golub is known to fellow Duranies and radio stations in the Pacific Northwest, where he is based, as Durandy.
Golub expects the book to be available at the end of November.
